Very relatable post - I also have cut down on drinking quite a bit from the college and early 20s times, not too intentionally but rather just a product of being in a healthy relationship and at a different stage in life. It also helps to have friends that can share moments without the drinks. Nowadays, I’m also pinching pennies on external spending so I resort to making drinks at home for myself.
But I am however, trying to add metrics to the ‘betterment’ with what my friends and I are calling a 75-medium (that seems to be turning into a permanent thing). We have a shared google sheet with custom parameters for improvement - mine includes 45minworkout, <3hr screen time, 100oz water, 75g protein, “low” junk/alcohol, 10 mins writing, and breakfast everyday. Others have different parameters but the point is to add a metric to track personal growth and also keep each other accountable in a ~nice~ way.
Just some drink for thought, I guess. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
